Apple Intends To Launch Wireless Version of iPhone
Apple is estimated to launch a high-speed wireless version of the iPhone soon. It is reported to produce as many as eight million of the devices in the third quarter, as per the Bank of America. Analyst Scott Craig expects the volume of production to be much higher than his previous approximation. He said Apple planned to build more than three million high-speed iPhones in May. In the third quarter it expects the production to reach more than eight million.
Craig had initially estimated the production of eight million iPhone units for the entire period of 2008. Now he feels that the figures looked modest unless of course certain plans were pushed back. Many other analysts have been quoted that they expect Apple, which is organising a developer conference in June, to launch an advanced iPhone somewhere around that time.
Current Analysis analyst Avi Greengart believed that it would make sense for Apple to introduce out its high-speed iPhone sometime around June at the time it launches an upgrade to iPhone software. Apple reported that it expects to have sold 10 million iPhones by the end of 2008. That is quite a target but Apple is confident of covering it.
