Apple promises via a new blog to rectify the MobileMe service issues
The MobileMe service by Apple was launched a couple of weeks ago at the same time that the company rolled out its new 3G iPhone. It is Apple’s perceived answer to the new popular phenomenon of ‘cloud computing’, in which data is stored on a remote server and can be updated via any device, which is hooked into the cloud.
However, some customers of the new service realised that they were not able to receive or send e-mails. Others had problems in ‘synching up’ their devices. As criticism started mounting on the blogosphere, the firm was prompted to open up and admit in a blog about teething problems with its service.
The firm also admitted that it had fixed more than 70 bugs but that 10 per cent of messages received from July 16 to July 18 were untraceable.
In the 14 days since we launched (the new service), it has been a rather rocky road; we know the pain some people have been suffering.
They also promised ‘to work around the clock for solving the problem.’
