AT&T to Give Blackberry Users Free Wi-Fi
AT&T has finally declared that it will be offering all people using a BlackBerry free Wi-Fi. This announcement has come after months of uncertainty regarding providing free Wi-Fi.
AT&T first made a decision to give free Wi-Fi to iPhone users, only to change its mind and take back the free Wi-Fi offer. AT&T has now decided that BlackBerry users with an unlimited data plan will be entitled to what they have called the “nation’s largest Wi-Fi network”. The firm has also said other gadgets with Wi-Fi will receive the same offer sometime in the future.
Other schemes offered by AT&T include a $20 subscription for Wi-Fi connectivity on a monthly basis. People registered with the AT&T small business broadband plans, AT&T High Speed Internet plans and those who have qualified AT&T LaptopConnect plans are also eligible to receive free Wi-Fi.
As quoted by David Christopher, the chief marketing officer of AT&T’s mobility business unit:
“AT&T is committed to providing its customers with the best connectivity at the best value. We have the industry’s leading lineup of smartphones, along with the nation’s largest Wi-Fi network. It only makes sense for us to bring these unique capabilities together for our customers.”
