Baidu getting involved in U.S. Presidential elections?
Baidu is getting involved in the U.S. Presidential elections and they are supporting Barack Obama. Baidu.com, the leading search engine in China, has decided to support him by putting a caricature of him and the democratic donkey on their homepage with the Baidu logo. Also, clicking on the logo will lead you to Obama’s profile.
Baidu has dedicated it’s homepage to an individual just five times before this and apart from his profile, Baidu has also provided video links of Obama.
There has not been any major reaction to this in China until now but “The China Perspective” stated the following:
“This is only the sixth time that Baidu has dedicated its homepage to an individual. Baidu has also been kind enough to provide a profile of Barack as well as links to videos of Obama.
Interesting choice on Baidu’s part since he is probably the least China friendly of the candidates.” reports The China Perspective.
