Groove Mobile is now PayForIt compliant
Groove Mobile’s UK D2C offering of music has become PayForIt compliant across all operators.
Groove Mobile is among the world’s leading mobile music service providers. The mobile music specialist has an exclusive deal with Universal Music for offering WAP stores from artists such as Kanye West, Amy Winehouse, Mika, the Kaiser Chiefs and Timbaland.
Now the store is PayForIt compliant across all leading UK operators. What this means is that it will follow the standardised WAP billing interface stipulated by the operators.
The service to begin with was made available earlier this year to Vodafone customers and then extended to 3 UK users a couple of months ago.
Groove officials points out that D2C full-track downloads are a viable consumer proposition in the UK, with operators now offering flat-rate data tariffs, thus minimising the possibility of ‘bill shock’.
According to the chief marketing officer (Groove Mobile), Adam Sexton, progress in off-portal content sales has been impacted by multiple billing practices spread across different carriers.
Thanks to its PayForIt compliance, Groove Mobile can ensure that its customers availing of mobile music in the UK are billed correctly and consistently for the content they buy and download.
