Intel launches a new online service for carers in Britain
ConnectingForCare.co.uk, the virtual network, is the first of its kind, claims IT giant Intel. The firm has come up with a new online service so that carers in Britain can seek advice from professionals and also support each other.
The virtual network looks to bring together not only family carers and healthcare professionals but also social workers and others in the domain. The aim of the online service is to ‘fill a lacuna in today’s healthcare system’ by employing technology for building a sense of community. ConnectingForCare is going to be a collaborative effort between Counsel and Care, the Queen’s Nursing Institute, the Princess Royal Trust for Carers and Intel.
Christine Claus, Intel’s Digital Health Group stated:
We believe that technology can play a big role in improving care and cutting down costs. We have also found that technology offers a fantastic way to connect people and there are certain communities, which really need a forum for providing that vital exchange of information and support.
