Konstantin Guericke, CEO of Jaxtr, recently reduced his employee count by firing 30 percent of them. Now, two weeks after his decision to cut stuff by thirty percent, Konstantin Guericke himself is out of a job. Bahman Koohestani, the engineering vice president as well as the previous CTO at Cyworld and Orbitz will be taking his place. Bahman Koohestani will be filling Konstantin Guericke’s shoes in the role of ‘interim’ CEO.

Jaxtr has been providing VoIP service to landlines and mobile phones. The latest round of funding provided to Jaxtr was in June, and was a $10 million Series B. Lehman Brothers Venture Capital, August Capital, Mangrove, Mayfield, DFJ, and angels Ron Conway and Reid Hoffman are some of the investors so far.

It is clear to see that Jaxtr is going through a difficult patch right now. Even so, Bahman Koohestani is hastening the process of team building. Jaxtr is seeing a strong growth in the area of premium membership purchases with 43 percent of new buyers preferring to buy a premium membership. This revenue stream is based on subscriptions and is said to be predictable.
