Meebo and Comedy Central Created Interactive Avenues for the Day of the US Election
The programs giving fake news from Comedy Central, namely “The Daily Show” and “The Colber Report” focussed keenly on their last stretch of the White house race. A look at Indecision2008, a website which is dedicated to the campaign coverage throughout the year will showcased the humour.
For the users who believed that videos on demand did not give complete satisfaction on the day of the elections, the network involved Meebo, the Instant Messaging engine, to run chat rooms on Indecision2008 where users held live discussions about the elections.
Along with the regular set of rooms which were provided to visitors by Meebo, Comedy Central also hosted a blogging feature which was live and featured a regular American standup comic, Patton Oswalt. The blog also showcased interviews along with the correspondents of “The Daily Show.”
Sources from Comedy Central and Meebo said that the partnership that they had for the big day was with the intention to increase user engagement and total time spent online.
Enough awareness should be generated amongst the users regarding new options and features available and along with that the chat rooms should be used to the best levels.
