Multilingual SEO provides an international boost
Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is one of the innovative ways of improving the flow of traffic to a website and multilingual optimisation is an added advantage, which provides an international boost to an online brand.
An industry commentator Adrie van der Luijt has in his article for SMEweb, an online resource for small and medium firms in Britain, claimed that Websites which only contain English as “lost opportunities”, which mean websites that have content only in the English language are at a loss when compared to websites which displayed content in different languages, which comprises almost 95% of their potential market. He also added saying that by converting website content into different languages, it is possible to really widen the scope of a site’s SEO.
Mr Van der Luijt also noted that since “most online transactions” begin with a search engine query, it is important to consider overseas language and cultural differences when promoting a business online.
