Many younger art and craft loving people are utilising the Internet as a platform to merge two of their passions: traditional crafts and new technology.
There are now networking sites like ravelry.com and craftster.org that are the craft surfer’s alternative and answer to Facebook. These networking sites bring together art and craft loving people. They act as online platforms that let people from across the globe to interact and get inspired by each other. The members share photographs of finished crafts or simply chat. There are also sites, such as knittginghelp.com, which provide free video tutorial services for amateur art lovers. The impact and influence of the Internet on the novice knitters is very obvious:
