AOL has come up with a revamped version of its popular e-mail website. It has given it a right-hand pane, which features plug-ins to display AOL content and Yahoo Mail.

The pane also features immediate access to all relevant information from AOL Finance, AOL Radio, TMZ, MapQuest and AOL Elections, stated Roy Ben-Yoseph, the AOL Mail Vice President, on the new AOL Mail blog update. He added:

“The Yahoo plug-in on AOL Mail lets users to preview Yahoo Mail, within the AOL Mail experience, as well as benefit from one-click access to their Yahoo Mail accounts.”

A revamped Yahoo.com homepage lets users check their AOL Mail. The Yahoo Mail plug-in is the first one of many third-party plug-ins, the firm expects.

“Expect to see more third party content over the coming few weeks on mail.aol.com as we strive to open up our service and offer one-click access to many other popular websites, e-mail service providers, and content.

“Our aim has always been to give the best of the Web experience. We can offer our users a one-stop destination by opening up our service for mail, messaging, and content.”
