There is good news for YouTube viewers. MGM is going to start movies in full length on YouTube. They will announce their partnership very soon and viewers will have instant access to movies and shows from the MGM catalogue. This viewing is free of cost but some ads will keep running with the videos.

But MGM has its reservations. They are doing it on a trial basis only. The entire catalogue of MGM will not be moved to YouTube at first; they will move ‘The Magnificent Seven’ in movies categories and ‘American Gladiators’ in shows categories. If the move is successful, only then they as well as other studios will think of offering full catalogue.

YouTube too, on its part, will have to tread this path very cautiously. A Viacom lawsuit is still pending and often the demands laid down big studios of Hollywood are ludicrous. In the meantime, YouTube viewers have something new on their hands and they can start enjoying the offerings for now and hope that the things get bigger and better with times and they may have to see full length new movies and shows on YouTube.
